The resort's traditional Mauritian thatched buildings are scattered among nine acres of tropical gardens and offer views of the mountains and the sea. The hotel boasts a 1,000-square-metre spa complex with facilities including an indoor pool, spa tub and hammam, and a range of spa treatments and beauty therapies are available. The hotel also features a fitness centre and an outdoor pool surrounded by palm-flanked sun terraces. A separate splash pool is provided for children, and supervised activities are available at the kids' club. The hotel houses two bars, one overlooking the swimming pool facing the ocean and the other set between the pool and the beach. The Sofitel Mauritius L'Imperial Resort & Spa has four restaurants: an international buffet serving Mauritian, Indian and French dishes: the Ming Court Chinese restaurant, which also has two Japanese teppanyaki tables; a beachfront Creole-style restaurant serving meat and grilled seafood specialities; and a semi-formal Creole fusion restaurant where lobster is the house speciality.
